By-Laws


ARTICLE 1: GENERAL INFORMATION
Section 1 All officers shall be elected by a written ballot every other year at the last meeting of the season and will assume office after the last function of the year.
Section 2 To be eligible to vote for officers, members will be required to attend two scheduled meetings prior to election.
Section 3 Each elected officer position will be for a two-year term. No officer can be elected to the same position for more than 2 terms unless he or she is unopposed.
Section 4 Each member of the Executive Committee will have an equal vote in all matters. In the event that one of the members is not present at a meeting and a tie vote results, the top ranking executive present will break the tie.
Section 5 There can only be one family member as an officer at any time. This "family Member" also includes a boyfriend, girlfriend, or significant other.
Section 6 All club checks must be signed by two officers.
Section 7 In the event that the club members feel that an officer or coach is not serving in the best interest of the wrestlers and the club, a vote can be called to remove him/her from office. If three-fourths of the membership approves, the officer or coach shall be removed.
Section 8 Any money being spent for club purposes must be approved by 2 officers.
Section 9 Any contracts cannot be signed unless it has been brought to the officer’s attention and must be signed by at least 2 officers.
Section 10 A WAWA representative will be appointed by the Executive Committee prior to the wrestling season to handle all league voting issues for South Fayette. In his/her absence, he will assign a responsible substitute to vote on his/her behalf. It will be the responsibility of the WAWA representative to give a brief report regarding previous WAWA meetings and voting decisions at each Tri-state Wrestling Club meeting, as well as how he/she voted on these issues.

ARTICLE 2: COMMITTEE APPOINTMENTS
The President shall be empowered to appoint such special committees, as he/she deems needful at any time or on the majority vote of the members at the meeting. He/she shall appoint committees as they see appropriate.

ARTICLE 3: AMENDMENT
These bylaws may be amended at any meeting by a two-thirds vote, a quorum being present.

ARTICLE 4: PARLIAMENTARY AUTHORITY
Robert's Rule of Order shall be the parliamentary authority on all matters not covered by constitution and bylaws of this club.
Order of Business
      1. Call to order by presiding officer.
      2. Roll call by the secretary.
      3. Reading of the minutes of the previous meeting by the secretary.
      4. Treasurer’s report.
      5. Committee reports.
      6. Unfinished business.
      7. New business.
      8. Program of the day.
      9. Adjournment.

ARTICLE 5: COACHES' RESPONSIBILITIES
Section 1 The Youth Head Coach will have full say on all decisions concerning coaching, practice, tournaments, matches, and mat room policy.
Section 2 The Youth Head Coach will be responsible for attending seeding meetings, or assigning a responsible assistant coach.
Section 3 The Youth Head Coach will be responsible for the gym and wrestling areas. In his absence, he will assign an assistant coach these responsibilities.
Section 4 All coaches will be responsible for making sure that each child is supervised until their parent(s) or guardian(s) arrive to take them home.
Section 5 At no time will abusive language or actions be tolerated. Coaches must maintain a positive environment for all children to learn and have fun.
Section 6 The secretary or designate will be responsible to turn in an active wrestling roster into the WAWA President one week before the season starts. An updated roster must be provided to the WAWA President in the event that a wrestler does not want to continue to wrestle during the season.

ARTICLE 6: WRESTLERS' AND MEMBERS' RULES
Section 1 No parent will question the decision of any official at any time. Disrespect to a coach or official will not be tolerated.
Section 2 A child must be 5 – 12 years of age.
Section 3 A parent will be notified if a wrestler is to wrestle more than one weight class above his own weight.
Section 4 Wrestlers must attend a league match unless notice is given in advance that he cannot attend.
Section 5 Wrestlers must practice at least twice a week and participate with the team to be eligible to wrestle that weekend, unless excused by Head Coach.
Section 6 The program does not encourage weight loss.
Section 7 Any wrestler or parent caught destroying or tampering with school property will be removed from the program.
Section 8 No wrestler will be permitted to wrestle for another team without the head coach’s approval. He will never be permitted if it is against his teammate.
Section 9 A wrestler must compete in all scheduled meets and also compete in the WAWA tournament to receive a trophy at the end of the season, unless excused by Head Coach.
Section 10 A wrestler’s age as of Jan. 1st of the current season will be his age for the season, including the WAWA tournament.
Section 11 All Tri-state Wrestling Club wrestlers shall wear the provided team uniform to all scheduled W.A.W.A. matches and tournaments. If a wrestler representing the Tri- State Wrestling team fails to wear the team uniform, he/she will not be allowed to wrestle at that event.
Section 12 Mandatory attendance will be required for the WAWA tournament.
Section 13 Having qualified medical personnel on call at matches and tournaments will be mandatory.
Section 14 All members will aid in any fundraisers that support our club.
Section 15 All members will follow the applicable WAWA By-Laws, rules, and regulations as necessary.
